NV Turkse Shell Project

NV Turkse Shell Project in Diyarbakir/Turkey for controlling and monitoring REDA pumps and production facilities of Shell Oil.

The project contains 17 REDA pump stations and 2 production stations for crude oil. The communication is via a VHF radio network. The SCADA package used is FixDmacs from Intellution and the RTUs are of the Motorola MOSCAD.

The SCADA center is located in the oil field and provides remote control and monitoring of the REDA pumps, calculates productions values, generates necessary reports, etc.

SYS had installed a SCADA system, for NV Turkse Shell, for monitoring the 17 outstations, which include REDA production pumps located in the crude oil production area of the company. The data transmission is made by VHF radio system. The system was commissioned in 1992.

In 1994, the extension of the system was realized in order to monitor the local automation for the plants located in another crude oil production area. The transmission of the production calculation data between the oil production areas and the control center was also achieved during the extension of the system.

The monitoring of four stand-by generators from the control center was added into system in 1995.
