Zakum Gas Injection Project
In 2001, SYS has commissioned a SCADA system for a leading off shore oil production company, Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company, ADMA-OPCO, U.A.E. SYS Inc. actively involved in the project for database and mimics generation for new stations added to the existing S/3 based SCADA center, commissioning of the upgraded SCADA system and CAC RTUs which are used for the main wellhead for oil production and gas injection. Each wellhead tower has three level control and monitoring system; S/3 SCADA, Bailey DCS and local conventional control and monitoring console. All wellhead towers have identical shutdown system, therefore the SCADA system communicates first with the field and then with the ABB Bailey's DCS system. The project is to renew the existing SCADA system which needs upgrade and expansion due to the expanding requirements. SYS started to replace and upgrade the existing system and gas injection towers was the first phase. Total point count is 4000 in the first phase. The field RTUs communicate with the SCADA center via a non-intefering MAS radio system. A bridge software also exists to provide communication between the S/3 SCADA and ABB Bailey DCS thru a local RTU.
