The project will be implemented in three phases and it will include 10 high capacity medium voltage pump stations, ten gate control and level monitoring stations along a 80km canal. All three phases will be completed in 18 months. SYS Inc. is responsible for design, supply, installation, programming and commissioning of RTUs for pump stations, gate control and level monitoring stations, a single-site non-interfering MAS Radio System over a pair of UHF frequency, a UHF voice communication system for local operations and maintenance personnel.

The new center incorporates a total 2000 m2 closed area for system integration, system staging, storage and FAT activities as well as office rooms for administrative and technical staff. The new office is located in Store Area of Abu Dhabi and will be mainly active for providing a better support for existing customers as well pursuing new projects in GCC area.
October, 2001 SYS Inc. and Metso Automation is in process of signing an agreement for long-term cooperation in water, gas, oil and electric SCADA projects. As it is known, Metso Automation and SYS Inc. has a long history of success in SCADA projects in Turkey. Some examples of project successfully completed by Metso Automation and SYS Inc., include BOTAS Natural GAS SCADA Project which was commissioned in June 2001, ASKI Water and Sewarage SCADA Project which was commissioned in June 2000 and KASKI Water and Sewarage SCADA Project which was commissioned in October 1998.

SYS will provide sales and complete implementation services for Kingfisher RTUs to be utilized in SCADA and automation applications. Action Controls product range includes RTUs that suits large, medium and small scale SCADA applications for water, oil/gas and electric projects. Type II Series is an expandable family of RTUs that can be used in large and medium scale projects while LP1 series provides cost-effective and flexible solution for small scale applications. The key features of Type II RTUs include many communication protocols such as industry standard DNP 3.1, IEC-870-5-101 as well as Kingfisher propriatery protocol, AGA calculations, PIDs, sequence of events tagging, time syncronization and remote upload/download. LP1 Series of RTUs are mainly suited for applications not requiring future expandability. Very low power consumption allows usage of small size solar panels thus making these RTUs ideal for remote stations where power is not available.

Each RMS station is equipped with a Motorola MOSCAD RTU collecting digital and analog signal stati and values from the field devices, as well as performing AGA calculations and PID loops. The stations are also equipped with Metso Automation's state-of-the-art S/3 SCADA systems for local control and monitoring of stations. Other key features of the system include HART interface capability, emergency operator panel, gas chromatograph data transfer from remote stations, and flow computer interface. Each station is also equipped with modems for redundant SCADA communicatons to primary and secondary SCADA centers located in Yapracık - Ankara and Pendik - Istanbul. SYS Inc. is highly preferred by the Natural Gas Transmission Utility of Turkey (BOTAS), pipeline and RMS contractors and metering system suppliers as being the main supplier and integrator of the existing Natural Gas Transmission SCADA system of BOTAS with Metso Automation.

SYS Inc. has completed an
industrial meter reading project with Siemens in Gebze Industrial Zone
The pilot project consists of two industrial facility equipped with Siemens's intelligent three phase power meters. Each power meter is connected to a RM3473 radio modem which enables remote reading of power meters from main operations center. The interface between the power meters and the radio modems are via RS232 connections. The radio modems use one UHF frequemcy and over the air speed is 9600 bps with 12.5kHz channel spacing.
